PV-T is one of those rare marvels in engineering where by incorporating three technologies; PV, Solar Thermal and Heat pumps, producing greener, cheaper energy than if they are installed separately.

Standard PV panels get hot, both from the sun and from inefficiencies in the light to electricity conversion, which is often why they’re highest peak output is during the sunny colder days as opposed to the height of summer.The PV-T solution features a ‘thermal layer’ which actively cools the PV part all year round resulting in a 20% increase in electrical generation compared to the standard PV. The heat absorbed from the panels can be used either directly through a ground source heat-pumps to provide heating and hot water for the property or, if no heat is required at the time, the panels divert the thermal energy into the ground system.
